The rainy weekend actually wasn’t too bad.

Went shopping at Filene’s Basement and found a coat, sweater, and Blair-Waldorf-worthy headband. After that, I wasn’t quite ready to go home, so I staked out a seat in the Union Square starbucks to read my book. After about half an hour, this guy pulls out the stool next to me, and sits down. He apologized for bumping into me, or something, and asked what I was reading. I was embarrased because it was some stupid, girly, book (I won’t even tell you the title - it’s that pathetic), but from there, wekept on talking. We exchanged numbers, and I headed back downtown. After about an hour,Starbucks Guy texted me and asked if I wanted to go see “Where the Wild Things Are”. I agreed, we looked up movie times, and met near Union Square at a theater at 6:30pm. Unfortunately, WTWTA was sold out, but (of course) I suggested we head over to the Thirsty Scholar. We walked over there and Starbucks Guy (of course) loved it. I have yet to meet a guy who doesn’t at least like the Scholar. We talked a lot, and he seems like a pretty cool guy. He’s from Indiana (a fact I made fun of throughout the night. I can be harsh.), has a master’s degree in sports management or something like that, and is finishing up a degree in secondary education. He’s student teaching in some school near the Brooklyn Bridge, and trying not to get murdered by the unruly students. Let me just say that, after hearing a few of his teaching stories (and he’s only been at it for a week), I am so SO happy I didn’t become a NYC teaching fellow. Anyways, we had a great time. I’m not sure if I like him as anything more than friend, but I neeeed more friends around here - so it’s fine by me :-)

I’m then enjoyed a lazy Sunday - ordered some sushi, and watched Bridget Jones. Lovely.
