yawn.
At work…putting off the inevitable “actually work” part for as long as possible. Its pretty windy and cool out, which is nice, buttttt it’s supposed to rain - and I didn’t remember my umbrella until I got to the bottom of the stairs. Needless to say, I didn’t feel like it was worth it to climb 6 flights just to possibly stay dry later on. Oh well.
My sister Kristina came by for a bit yesterday, and wasn’t completely obnoxious for once. When she stops acting like a pretentious gods-gift-to-music brat, it’s not bad hanging out with her. Around 7, Jspo and I went across the street to The Dove and had a few delicious drinks. Seriously - check out this menu. Then I did a little food shopping, and we went home to watch Gossip Girl on iTunes.
After falling asleep more easily than I have in a while, I woke up to this crazy nightmare about cockroaches. Apparently, I agreed to wash my hair with dead, crunched up cockroaches, because it was some kind of “special treatment”. When it was time to put the cockroaches in - I (understandably) freaked out. Yeeeeahhh. So after I woke up from that, of course I felt like bugs were crawling all over me, and I couldn’t get back to sleep for a while. I’m such a baby - (a baby in need of Ambien).
On a good note - I got a few texts yesterday from this guy I hung out with Sunday night. I met him and his friend when Nicole and Laura came out on Thursday, and they both seemed really nice. When they came into the city on Sunday (they’re from Nassau), they asked me to come out with them. Jspo went to bed, so I headed out to the East Village with two near-strangers and actually had a great time. I spent most of the night talking to the somewhat-cute one, Chris, and he asked what my plans for the rest of the week were, and if I was off next weekend - good signs. We texted back and forth a few times yesterday, so we’ll see what happens. Regardless, I’m doing my best to have a few backup friends for when the roommate doesn’t feel like going out - not that it looks likeĀ she’ll be slowing down anytime soon ;-)
P.S. I’m totally in love with the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack. “Sweet Disposition” (Temper Traps), “Us”, “Hero” (Regina Spector), and “Here Comes Your Man” (The Pixies) are playing on repeat on my iPod.
Okay - Tumblr time, done. It’s facebook time now.
